The Fruitful Gathering

Scottish Orchards are launching the project ‘Commonwealth Orchard’ by holding the Scottish Orchard Gathering of enthusiasts, fruit growers, apple pickers, pie bakers, grafters and pruners 10am-4pm Saturday 22nd May 2010 at St Mungo’s Museum, 2 Castle Street, Glasgow, RSVP essential.

They say,

“The Commonwealth Orchard consists of lots of small plantings, and lots of people across Scotland, and across the Commonwealth. Inspired by the 2014 Commonwealth Games – this is a great way to link people to create a Fruitful Legacy for years to come. We have been working across Scotland for 18 months and planted in schools, community centres, with arts, disability, multicultural groups, as well as environmental, and transition town groups. But this is just the start. We want to get schools, and communities right across Scotland to get planting and to work together to create a Fruitful Scotland. “
