Thanks Chris for this weblink! Very interesting article. However, I do have one critique/fear about Fend’s work, which I see does not appear in that article linked in your post: I find his projects/plans/dreams extremely big & some of them potentially very dangerous. I feel, in at least some of Fend’s projects, a kind of extreme hubris, sort of like the crazy geo-engineering plans we regularly hear about nowadays. It’s a bit, if I compare it with the Harrisons’ “Lagoon Cycle”, as if the “Lagoon Maker” would have had his way and not realized that his plan to flush the Salton Sea was a bad, arrogant idea in the first place. What I see missing in Fend’s work is humility, and self-critical reflexivity which might balance that extreme hubris…
